True, we might wish to establish a new subthread here on "private censorship" but my argument about copyright term extending control by heirs and not authors is significant. When the work enters the public domain such censorship ought not to happen. However, we should recognize that many works first published in the UK entered the public domain and then copyright by heirs was reinstated later, only because term was extended (retroactively).

Now that I've given that hint about subthreads, I don't wish to continue the "droit de suite" thread any longer in the face of the moderator's wise suggestions. I tend to write too long anyway.
