     Chess makes me think of a world before copyright or patent. I believe the game dates back to the time of Mohammed, first in the Indian and Persian areas and shortly afterwards in the Arabian lands, then China, Russia and Europe. There are many owners and devotees, but no authors who will have any proprietary rights claims.

     Plenty of parents have already adapted the moves and would probably be quite pleased to see your innovation. Good luck.
