Excuse me, but I don't think that you have the faintest idea how the the music business works. Songwriters are almost NEVER paid any "initial compensation;" they derive their income ONLY on royalties.

You also don't see why musicians or writers would have an "inherent right" to benefit financially from their work? Do YOU work for free? Why should they?

Napster is theft, pure and simple. It's just exactly like stealing a CD from a music store.
