Forgive me, Christine. This is, of course, a different matter. Maybe, then, his brokerage firm experience is not the first thing to mention about him when the issue is his credentials as an art historian. Were I teaching a literature class, I'd think it misleading and confusing to introduce T. S. Eliot as a banker, or William Carlos Williams as a physician. Why not just introduce your man as an art historian who's published widely on Martini? This is far simpler and more relevant to the issues at hand than whether he works for Smith Barney or Merrill Lynch.
