This list has recently included a number of threads about the effects of the DMCA on reducing access to information (for example). When a publisher can cryptographically prevent me reading something for the purposes of criticism or review, with the full support of the Law, as a direct extension of the laws of copyright, I believe it's reasonable to claim that's denial of access caused by copyright.
(In response to Don R. and David H, I'll simply agree to differ. To quote David, "Obviously, then, we have a source of disagreement that can not be reconciled." But Greg I.'s Jerry Springer comment gets a touche from me -- rhetoric is an unfortunate habit of mine, and I'm grateful to be called on it.)
