Thank you in advance for any help which might come my way!!! I have received a different answer from each librarian I have talked with including one from the state historical society. Help!!!

I would like to write a book about my grandfather and include within it short chapters which are taken from the newspaper articles he once wrote for a now defunct small town newspaper in SW Missouri during the early 1940s. The newspaper was shut down a few years before his death in 1951.

So! The newspaper has not been in operation for about 50 years and my grandfather has been deceased about that long as well! Can I do this without expecting trouble? The town which produced the newspaper only had a population of about 2000, if that. We can't even locate newspapers in a historical library on microfilm for the years of his articles! I am working strictly from those which he saved in a scrapbook.

I want so badly to do this book, but am afraid of something coming at me out of nowhere! Thanks again for any help you might offer!
