Fathering a child

Hi,

My name is Max and I made a verbal agreement with a very close friend of mine over ten years ago. First, we are both gay and became very good friends. After 2 1/2 years of friendship she asked me to father a child for her. As a friend I wanted her to be happy and she told me that this would make her very happy. She is ten years older than I (I was 21 years old at the time). Before agreeing to do this for her I told her that I will not be able to financially support the child because I was still working on a career and she convinced me that I would only visit the child if I wanted to and did not have to support it. Ten years later she takes me to court for child support. I was never ready for something like this. Of course we are no longer friends. Any comments ? or advise?
