Nimmer's treatise on Copyright is considered by many to be the definitive work, but it's pretty long. Boorstyn on Copyright is a two volume treatise that is much shorter (the second volume is mostly index and appendices).

McCarthy on Trademarks is a 6 volume set that lays out trademark law in about as much detail as you could want.

For an excellent short summary of intellectual property law in general, see "Protecting Your Ideas" by Joy Bryant. The book is mostly about patent protection, but the first chapter or two offers an excellent summary on the different types of intellectual property law and the various ways to protect it. Unlike the others, you might be able to find it at your local Barnes and Noble (for about $20).

I am willing to read A LOT, so if you'll do have a big list, please pass it on. I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
