I am new to this list and this question may have been asked before so please excuse me.

  1. If a faculty member downloaded a full text of an article from a database and then e-mails it to all of his class, is that permissible?
  2. Can they repeat the email for additional semesters without obtaining copyright permission?

Thanks in advance.

and JMO is just my opinion. You see a lot of shorthand in email because we don't always have a lot of time to put it ALL in the message. :) At one time, someone (maybe the listserve?) stated that they didn't want us to include the other message with our answer. I agree, it helps if you do.

  1. It would help to reprint the question here - I'm interested in this question but need the question to understand it.
  2. What's "JMO"? I keep seeing acronyms on this listserv I don't know - can writers please spell out what they're saying?
