I'm a first time user and a librarian trying to find the answer for my
diocese involving pom pom squads and their musical routines. Specifically,
can anyone help me determine if these squads may use music legally acquired
to perform dance routines at half-times of ball games? Do they need public
performance rights? The only money charged is just for admission and of
course, goes back to the school. May they "cut and paste" from other songs
to create something new for their performance? I have searched several
copyright sites and listservs and can't really find the answer.
