> Library Groups Say Sweeping State Copyright Laws Could Stifle Teaching
> and Research
I was at the public hearing for the Joint Committee for Criminal Justice in Massacussetts yesterday morning. I was representing the Free Software Foundation's Digital Speech Project, which opposes technology control laws.
Unfortunately, I didn't see any representatives from library groups. On the other hand, the so-called "ponytail gang", meaning cryptographers and other computer scientists, was out in force; I counted about fifteen. Additionally, there was a represenative from the American Electronics Association, a biologist, and the executive director of the Berkman Center (speaking personally).
