Dear Nancy,
Ethan Ellenberg in NYC has had his own agency for 15-20 years, and before that did d publicity for HarperCollins, I think. He sold a book for a client of mine to Workman. If you contact him, could you tell him I sent you? I attach his card.
Sincerely,
Jessica Friedman

This message may be not quite appropriate for the list, so I apologize in advance. But ...
Are there any literary agents or representatives from general market publishers lurking on this list or does anyone have good connections...
I am interested in writing a book for the mass market. The title is: A Parent's Guide to Raising CyberSavvy Kids: Empowering Your Child to Make Safe and Responsible Choices When Using the Internet.
The book will take the approach that technological "quick fixes" will not address Internet dangers and concerns. What is necessary is engaged parenting and transmitting to kids the knowledge, skills, and values that will help them make safe and responsible choices. I will provide helpful practical guidance on addressing Internet dangers and concerns. And, yes, I will address copyright issues.
I am very well-qualified to write this book -- having focused on issues of legal, ethical, safe use of the Internet by kids since the mid-90's. I testified before the COPA Commission and the NRC Committee that addressed issues of youth and Internet porn. I'm speaking on these issues at a NetSafety conference in New Zealand this summer. I have background in both social/behavioral/parenting issues and the law. I have written two books on these issues, one for kids and one for educators.
I have sent out queries, but I have the feeling that I am not quite finding the right person. My book is cross-platformed: parenting and the Internet. Agents who handling parenting books seem to be leery of the Internet aspect. But this is not a techie book, it is a parenting book. So I thought I would take a chance with a message on this list.
Hopeful thanks in advance (and, again, apologies to anyone who thinks this message is inappropriate).
