Does anyone have a copy of the Ninth Circuit's February 12, 2001 decision
in A&M v. Napster? This is the version prior to its amendment on April 3,
2001.
A search on findlaw.com initially seems to find both versions:
There are several versions or parts of this case provided by the
court. More recent version usually contain corrections, updates, or
other important information.
A&M RECORDS v NAPSTER
No. 0016401 - 02/12/2001
A&M RECORDS, INC. v NAPSTER, INC.
No. 0016401 - 04/03/2001
However, both copies listed here are actually the amended April 3 version.
My recollection is that the Ninth Circuit's discussion of the "substantial noninfringing use" was very different in the original version than in the amended version; I'd like to check that memory.
I'd like to read the original version, if anyone has a copy handy. Thanks.
