Hi, thanks for adding me to your listserve.
I am currently dealing w/ a pain in the neck problem w/ the copyright office.
In Feb I mailed them a large envelope with seperate applications in seperate envelopes for nine songs.
In May, my account was deducted by one song. I emailed the obvious question to them, and got a phone call back. the woman said she would look for the other applications and materials. never heard back from her again. she agreed that I definitely applied for individual SRs on each song correctly, no problem there. just that only one song of all, the title track to the CD has been dealt with. Perhaps, she said, the other 8 songs are in some yet to be opened boxes. I queried how they could have been seperated from the one song in copyright progress.
Today I got a letter and new forms (PA, which is not right, I wanted SR for obvious reasons, recording and composing) from the PA section, explaining to me how to correctly apply for a collection of songs under the title track. I could just scream.
anyone here had similar problems. the materials have been being published, broadcast worldwide since Nov 2002, the registration date should be Feb 2003, and I can't register anything w/ the ASCAP folks because the Copyright office has lost/screwed the entire package up.
