I regularly pay for content I am legally allowed to get for free. I do this because I know that it is in my benefit to support creators. Red Hat is a $1 billion dollar company whose products can (mostly) be obtained for free. In fact, I believe many people are concsiously steering towards companies whose products are available for free and choosing only to pay such companies.
