No, I thought I would be rewarded for it based on my merit and my company culture and integrity.

Without those patents, am I wasting my time? Can I still apply for them?

Very complicated set of questions, but if you are an inventor and the invention is protected (Was it patented? Has it been held as a trade secret and properly protected?) then you may have significant rights with respect to the invention, both as to it's use by the company and possible independent use by you or those you license!

        If I came up with an idea, developed it locally, hired a computer guy to create an Access based program but it was paid for by my company, then presented it to my entire company. They took the idea and created a company and have hired a staff to work on it (programs, etc) are making lots of money selling it. Do I have an rights to that money or idea? I have been helping them modify it and use it since too.
