My 2 cents as a photographer, musician. (Apologies if I haven't followed the legal aspects of the thread precisely.) If I send out a direct mail piece advertising my photographs I don't send out 16 X 20 prints. I send out little prints. It doesn't matter if it was a bulk mailing or if someone requested information. If a photo is cut out of the mailing and stuck in a little picture frame on a desk, that's my responsibility. If I have a website and advertise my photographs there or my music I'm not going to post super high resolution images or completed digital recordings to be downloaded. That would be foolish. I would put samples at the website. I would be upset if I sold someone a 16 X 20 print and they scanned it and made prints for their moms and pops.
