I was contacted by a school about a fundraiser they would like to have during the next football season. They would like to have a "tail gate" party using a rented large screen TV in the school parking lot. They would like to display a NFL (Green Bay Packers) or NCAA game (University of Wisconsin Badgers). Funds would be raised by charging a parking fee and selling food. I presume they will will simply pull the television signal off air from a local station (which from what I've read does make a difference). They would not rebroadcast or record it in anyway.

I am aware that the NFL was able to secure some special copyright protection regarding their live broadcasts, but I believe that has to do with people bypassing their hometown blackouts.

Does anyone have any insights into this type of situation? If a license is needed, does anyone have information about who to contact? Thanks in advance for your help.
