I'm not opining on the merits, just suggesting that the 11th Amendment is no panacea. So you sue the individuals involved and hold them personally liable. Not much of a trade off for faculty and librarians. I'd try for injunctive relief and statutory damages lowered since I'm a non-profit state educational institution. Llew

Can't they assert Eleventh Amendment immunity? UC is part of the State of California.
