For those who take up Gregory's suggestion, a better approach to finding patents covering a specific kind of game is to use classification. As an example, if I want to search for patents relating to board games, I could use the string "CCL/273/236" in the advanced search at http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/search-adv.htm. This is better than just searching for the words "game" or "games" because there are so many different kinds of games.
http://www.uspto.gov/go/classification/ is a good place to start for searching a specific classification. From there, I obtained "CCL/273/236" from http://www.uspto.gov/go/classification/uspc273/defs273.htm.
