So, this is clearly a trademark infringement, right? Using the Hollywood sign to plug a publisher? In New York, no less. Consumer confusion, etc. Of course, there's also the issue of the painting of the Hollywood sign on the fabric backdrop.
n.b. at the end of the article: "For this NEWSWEEK photo, Regan suggested that she slip on a ball gown and pose atop one of the famed lion statues in front of the New York Public Library. The library nixed that idea. As if she needed more proof that she's too big for that town."
No doubt the NYPL was concerned about trademark infringement, too.
