I can't help but admire Google's chutzpah. Selfishly, I wish them success in realizing a future suggested by Qwest TV ads that aired in the late 90's which promoted the power of broadband to bring us "every movie ever made in every language, anytime, day or night," "every performance by every artist of every piece of music ever recorded," and "every edition of every book ever published in every language." The technology is there. The public's expectations are there. It's time for legal and business model interests to wake up and catch up.
