Your initial premise is not correct. A minor can enter into a legally
binding contract. The only catch with a contract with a minor is that the
minor, not the non-minor party to the contract, has the ability to avoid the
contract at any time up until a reasonable time after reaching the age of
majority (normally 18).
So go ahead and enter into the contract and also go ahead and register your copyright in the photos.

Subject: [CNI-(C)] Some advice requested for a minor
Hello all,
I am 17 years old and am starting my career as a photographer. A friend of mine asked me if I would take some pictures for him to help promote some bands. Now obviously I can't enter into a contract, so I have two questions.
Please, all opinions and advice are welcome.
Thanks,
Marissa
