If I understand the Four Factors of Fair Use correctly, then it would probably be okay for them to use those images if the images do not constitute most of the presentation, and if the images are mostly sober pictures that simply depict the spider without any "artistic" value. If you're really paranoid, you should also make sure that the image from each web site does not constitute a sizeable amount of the web site's total content... but if the other two factors are covered, then this factor may not be so crucial.
