Two good sources for title 17 are:

        http://www.copyright.gov/title17/ (it contains links to the 2003 edition in txt and pdf, plus links to amending Acts since then), and

        http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode17/usc_sup_01_17.html (which should be a it more current, and contains a specific link for "how current is this?")
