The information provided by Dr. Carol Simpson in this email is true. And I stated it in fact to reiterate the need for copyright education to reach the education community beyond the typical interested parties such as teacher-librarians/school librarians. Books published on Copyright Law tend to be read by that audience. My DVD is reaching students, staff and administrators that would not normally be interested or receptive to sitting down and discussing legal use of copyrighted materials in an educational setting for 30 minutes or so.

Illegal use of copyrighted materials is both a problem of a lack of information/education and a lack of interest in respecting intellectual property rights. Simply, I am reaching out to a multimedia generation with a multimedia teaching tool. I give credit to Dr. Carl Simpson (Linworth Publication) and Susan Schroeder (Heartland AEA) as their books are some of the great sources of hard facts presented in the slide show segments of the DVD.
