Mary, I'm relying solely on my memory, which might not be much better than yours on this point, but I think the musician in question was John Fogerty, who was prevented from publishing some songs that were similar to songs he had written when he was with the band Creedence Clearwater Revival. The assignee of copyright sued to prevent it.

I heard yesterday that this case is going to the Supreme Court -- I don't know if that's reliable or not.

I'll bet a Lexis or Westlaw scan for NAME(FOGERTY) or "CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL" would turn something up. Received on Thu Sep 23 1993 - 16:57:20 GMT
