I'm afraid that my company is moving the majority of its development effort
overseas, and as a consequence, I've been laid off. I've enjoyed the
discussions here in the CNI-Copyright forum, both as a contributor and a
reader. I'll continue to have email access at 71550.133[_at_]compuserve.com and
tcarroll[_at_]scuacc.scu.edu, but both systems make continued participation on
this list more difficult than in the past.
This is not the worst time for me to be laid off: I graduate from law school in May, and perhaps its best that I have this motivation to force a career change into law. As long as I'm at this, I might give myself a plug: if you know of a law firm or company that would be able to use a fresh lawyer who knows his way around copyright law very well, and is also pretty good with other areas of intellectual property law (e.g., trade secret, trademark and trade dress, and patent), plus, of course, a good grounding in the basics, I'd love to hear from you.
I'll remain on the list a couple more days (Friday, January 7, is my last day), and then sign off.
I intend to continue support of the Copyright FAQ, but it has been removed from the Amdahl site, and the main home for it is now rtfm.mit.edu.
Thanks for the good times!
