I am the director of a small consortium of academic law libraries that
has been formed to explore/exploit imaging technology. We are currently
planning to use imaging technology as the first step in a process that
will result in a database of human rights materials that will be available
on the net. In this use, the images will mainly serve as an archival
resource in the event that the text we derive has too many errors.
We are interested in exploring further use of images in other ways as well. We have a number of members that are interested in/concerned with the copyright implications of imaging text materials, especially in library/archiving applications.
I would be very interested in participating in any discussions on this or related topics.
