Correct, Craig. Some of those thousands of the level after the 1100 subscribers may have explosion lists, and that third level may have a fourth level, and...

But it goes even beyond that... into the dimension of time as well... What you post today may not be delivered to a subscriber (even at the first level) for months -- the postings here are archived at least by the listserv, and perhaps by thousands of subscribers.

One might suggest that a CD-ROM of this list is publication, but another view would be that a CD-ROM is merely a delayed distribution via non-email, ergo just an extension of the list.

To say that a post here goes to a finite number of people is correct, the number just can not be known... Hence, you can copyright your postings, but what does it buy you?
