Phase II of reform of Canada's copyright act has been inched forward for the last five years. At present, draft legislation is being prepared, but the scheduling of presentation to the House of Commons is uncertain.

This phase is to deal with issues involving the electronic media, but I am uncertain at this moment whether they will deal with the issues of electronic distribution and multimedia use at this stage. I continue to raise the issues with the appropriate bureaucrats and indeed have a meeting with Industry Canada in about two weeks.

I have been following all this on behalf of both Carleton, and AMTEC (The Association for Media and Technology in Education in Canada).
