> Caveat emptor?
Yes indeed. Also, you can't judge a book by its cover, etc. Tabloids like the Enquirer are exceptional in that they advertise their sensational nature to us ("Sex-change Nun becomes Sumo Wrestler" -an actual banner headline from the Weekly World News at one time). Far more dangerous are those books and pseudo-journals that "look" like something respectable. In the environment of the internet, the playing field is leveled. All information is wearing the same set of clothes and must be judged on its intrinsic merit, viewed through a filter of 'suspicion'. The upside of this is that it should encourage discourse and substantiation amongst users.
