The December 1994 issue of PUBLISH magazine reports that a contestant in an annual design contest sponsored by Corel, the Canadian software firm, was sued for copyright infringement for a mock book cover design entered in the contest. The infringing design appears to use a photograph whose copyright is held by Tony Stone Images, a stock photo firm.
Those of you who have access to the December issue of PUBLISH (page 16) might find a comparison of the original photograph and the contest entry interesting.
