What kind soul will remind me of the gist of the recent discussion about the electronic redistribution of printed articles by the original publisher? I hadn't dreamed it would be relevant to me, but...
I publish an annual softbound anthology of poetry. I always thought of the publication as a one-shot deal, and each annual bears a notice saying that the publisher claims copyright "on behalf of the individual poets." Poets are not paid and we sign no contract with them.
Now I may have the opportunity to re-release old annuals on diskette. Can I do so without requesting permission afresh from all the poets? Can I consider such publication as no different legally from extending the original press run?
