While I would not in any sense characterize their work as being "against"
copyright, etc., the writings of L. Ray Patterson and Wendy Gordon, Jane
Ginsburg (to some extent), Paula Samuelson (with respect to some aspects of
computer software protection), among others, suggest a more inclusive
"public domain" and a greater willingness to limit the scope of protection
than do a number of other scholars. Again, I do not want to paint with too
broad a brush but you may find a public domain "tilt" in some of these
works. There are also a few, primarily CLS oriented writers and not
necessarily intellectual property people as such, who question the social
value of intellectual property protection (e.h., Coombes)
