Announces Its Third Annual Symposium
First Amendment and the Media:
Regulating Interactive Communications on the
Information Superhighway

(New York) -- The Fordham Intellectual Property,
Media and Entertainment Law Journal will present
its third annual "First Amendment and the Media"
conference, a day-long symposium on "Regulating
Interactive Communications on the Information
Superhighway." The full-day symposium will be held
on Wednesday, February 15, 1995 at McNally
Amphitheater, Fordham University School of Law,
140 West 62nd Street, New York, NY.
The Symposium brings together leading experts in
media law for a practical and detailed examination
of the most recent and controversial developments
in First Amendment jurisprudence involving media
entities and developing information technologies.
The panels will examine current First Amendment
issues within the context of the unprecedented
developments in the computer and interactive
communications industries. Specific issues will
include: the applicability of the First Amendment
to this medium; the proper standard of review to
use when analyzing such questions; and particular
problems with respect to issues of privacy and
censorship.

The registration fee is $150 and includes conference materials, luncheon and an evening cocktail reception, as well as a copy of the Journal's spring issue, which will feature the proceedings of the symposium. There will be full and partial scholarships available to law students, government attorneys, law professors, unemployed attorneys, judges, judicial clerks and attorneys employed by nonprofit organizations. The Symposium has also been approved as providing 6.0 hours of Continuing Legal Education(CLE) credit. Attendees may register on the day of the event.
