In my opinion, in order to comply with copyright law, you would need to have public performance rights for this video. Although you state that this discussion is for educational purposes, you also state that you are not affiliated with the institution; in my mind, the non-affiliated status takes precedence, since almost anything can be labelled *for educational purposes*.

Many video distributors (such as Films for the Humanities and Sciences and PBS Video, to name a couple),include public performance rights with their purchase price. Other distributors can secure the rights for a fee (which varies).

I remember hearing about a company which could provide public performance licenses for single events. I don't remember the name (sorry!) but I believe it was affiliated somehow with Films, Inc. in Chicago (1-800-343-4312).
