disputes

I am on a committee here dealing with copyright issues and the university setting. It would be helpful to know if other universities/faculty have encountered any disputes (documented or not) with 3rd parties where their work at or for the university was concerned.

One that comes to mind is the now famous Kinkos case here in the Bay Area. Our committee is interested in knowing about other types of disputes or situations which have confronted teachers, staff, administration with a situation where they have had to "go to bat" to defend, explain or protect their actions or intentions with 3rd parties (i.e. publishing company, copy center, engineering firm, private author, computer company, Record firm, etc....)

We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone in the California State University System, but would like to hear from anyone with helpful experience or information.
