The folks at the Palo Alto law firm of Fenwick & West have made their in-house conference on licensing rights for multimedia products a free downloadable article. Focus of the article is a break-down of the Top Ten Legal Issues concerning such rights.

Two sites have the article archived:

o P-Law Resource Locator for legal research into a myriad of disciplines:

      http://www.dorsai.org/p-law
      Look for ``Current Multimedia Content Rights-Legal Issues-A Top
Ten List" in two places:

(1) the new P-Law Home Page under "New" (with a hotlink to the
following);

(2) In the ``Additional P-Law Journal Services" with links to a single
hybrid html/txt page with information about the authors and with links to the articles (Articles of Interest) themselves.

or

o etext.archive.umich.edu

    Anonymous access via Internet File Transfer protocol (ftp) and via the Internet Gopher protocol. Otherwise use either of the below URLs for the same thing:

ftp://etext.archive.umich.edu/pub/Legal/Computing/Multimedia-Top10_List.txt

gopher://etext.archive.umich.edu/11/Legal/Computing/Multimedia-Top10_List.txt

Actual legal advice may be obtained from either of the author/attorneys Fred Greguras or Erick Hachenburg at fmg[_at_]fwpa.com or exh[_at_]fwpa.com respectively.
