Fair Use in the Digital Age

I seem to recall that there was a conference/forum/seminar on fair use in the digital/electronic age which grew out of recommendations in the NII task force, draft IP report.

Did such a Government-sponsored (or otherwise) conference actually take place?

If so, are there proceedings/papers/resolutions available on the Net?

The reason I ask is that the Australian government is currently considering a similar conference to take place over here in mid-95.

I would like to hear from anyone about what they may have learned from the US experience (if any), and if there are some pithy summaries about what shape fair use should take for digital media, I'd love to hear them - BTW, I already have the ALA statement "Fair use in the electronic age...".

Thanks in advance for any information.
