for those of you who still read newspapers, there was a letter to the editor of the New York Times in Monday's newspaper on the Bettman copyright issue.
On the question of whether a "shrink wrap" license would work to prevent licensees from making copies, I think not. A court would likely analogize to the patent cases holding that a licensor cannot extend the life of a patent beyond the term granted by law. See, e.g., Brulotte v. Thys Co., 379 U.S. 29 (1964).
