Cross-posted to cyberia-l and cni-copyright:
Does anyone have a good collection of cases regarding the copyrightable elements of compilations of, or changes to, public domain materials? I am sitting in the Eleventh Circuit and off the top of my head I would say _Feist_, 449 U.S. 340; _Bellsouth_, 999 F.2d 1436; _West v. Mead_, 799 F.2d 1219; _Southern Bell_, 756 F.2d 801; and _Catalda_, 191 F.2d 99 address the topic. I also seem to remember a 2d Cir. case about a phone book oriented toward oriental consumers, and two district court cases about a computer program that stored part numbers and one that stored used car prices (anyone have the cites?). _ProCD v. Zeidenberg_, 1996 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 167 also addresses the topic.
Does anyone have other cites?
Response by private e-mail is fine, although people on the lists might be interested in responses.
