The following is an announcement about the University of Dayton School of Law's Seventh Annual Advanced Computer Law Seminar: "COMPUTER and CYBERSPACE LAW."
This announcement is being cross-posted to lawprof, cni-copyright, and cyberia-l. Please feel free to post it to other lists that you believe would be interested. Please make appropriate use of the Delete key if you get several copies.
Although I think this announcement may be of interest to the group, I recognize that its educational goals of the program are mixed with the fact that the program costs money and apologize to any who may be offended.

The University of Dayton School of Law's Seventh Annual Advanced Computer Law Seminar: "COMPUTER and CYBERSPACE LAW."
June 14, 1996
Dayton Convention Center, Dayton, Ohio
The Program in Law and Technology at the University of Dayton School of Law focuses on intellectual property and computer law/cyberspace law. The School of Law offers eight courses in intellectual property law and three courses in computer law/cyberspace law. It is among the leaders in the nation in its couse offerings in these areas.
For the past six years, The Program has organized Advanced Computer Law CLE seminars and is proud to do so again this year.
This conference features top-notch faculty and concentrates on significant developments in computer and cyberspace law. The morning sessions are intended to be of interest to the entire audience and breakout sessions in the afternoon allow attendees to obtain in-depth information in areas of specific interest to themselves.
The speakers this year in the morning sessions are Andy Johnson-Laird who will explain how the Internet acts like a giant automatic copying machine and is designed in such a way as to make legal regulation very difficult, Katherine Spelman of Steinhart & Falconer who will discuss the White Paper proposals to regulate the Internet, Michael Epstein of Weig. Gotshal & Manges who will provide the latest information about liabilities on-line, and David Hayes of Fenwick & West who will provide his annual computer law update on copyright look and feel cases.
The afternoon features breakout session about legal issues in connection with doing business on the internet, international issues from Europe and the Pacific Rim, advanced computer patent issues, trends in contracting, and the new world of communications law and software patents for general practice computer lawyers.
Some people think that this program is one of the three or four best computer law programs in the country.
The low cost to attend the one-day program ($280; even less if registration is made by May 19) certainly makes the program an incredible bargain. And the low cost offered to participants by the Stouffer Renaissance Hotel ($77 per night, single or double) helps make the total cost quite reasonable.
