I am starting a business that takes chart data information from three different magazine periodicals and compiles it into one database. These magazines get their data from the sources that contact them. Two of magazines have almost identical info. The third overlaps in a subgroup but has additional info not covered in the other two. We intend to use these as sources along with providing additional data by contacting some of the original sources.

How close is "closely resembles"? Is there a percentage?

Do I need to be concerned if I am distributing a database that doesn't contain expression on a page?

What is MY best form of protection against being copied? Licensing?
