I agree with O. Schenker that the distinction between economic and moral interests in copyright is indeed important.
I think the internet will only accelerate awareness of moral rights - the principles of economic copyright are already well entrenched. I think people will take more notice or moral rights once we see lawsuits and claims asserting them - for example, someone complaining of the digital manipulation (morphing for example) of another's work. While economically authorized, this use may still be disparaging to the author and the work and give rise to liability for violation of a moral right.
