A client wishes to buy our server (fully developed by us). Significant enhancements have to be made to realize the desired solution. He required a written proposal, very detailed -- i.e.: a work plan with all technical details -- for these enhancements.
He pays for this proposal even if the final contract will not materialize. In this case, we agree that he can use the technical details and concepts which we have developed to have annother company realize (program) them.
Does it make sense to place "Copyright" on the proposal? Is it necessary? What are the consequences if we do / don't?
Thank you for your attention and help.
