Re: Copyright upholds Monopoly,was: Microsoft's OS competitors

I seem to recall that in the past the federal government has worked with private industry to develop standards in equipment; specifically, I believe it was with semiconductor chips. There is so much money to be made in this os stuff that Microsoft may not want to play with its brothers and sisters, but maybe it cd be persuaded by Washington.
