Yes, they have jumped into the arena, and yes, they have inflated prices. So the point is made, and we are in agreement that journal costs have been inflated by commercial publishers.

As far as Physical Review is concerned, your info is probably not relevant: there are now many more sections being published in many more issues. What you need is a figure for the cost per page to the subscriber. Try that.

Concerning SCIENCE-WEEK, whatever you were reading "as a kid", this one is not that one. :)
