I'm trying to remember where we had the discussion about NSI and refusal to register ADULTSRUS.COM. I think it was on CYBERIA-L. I would appreciate it if anyone with information on the refusal to register ADULTSRUS.COM, or any other domain name, would send me a message off-list. Apologies for the cross-posting; what we are discussing on CNI-COPYRIGHT is below for your reference.
With regard to a discussion on copyright claims by NSI on the domain name registry:

My understanding is that NSI made a decision to deny domain name registration to ADULTSRUS.COM. I don't know why, but it could possibly have been based on the fact that "TOYS R US" is famous for being a heavily litigated mark. I don't know if the would-be proprietors of ADULTSRUS.COM ever sued NSI or not. Perhaps Carl or one of the other list members knows more of the facts. I can't remember where we discussed this originally, I think it was on CYBERIA, so I'm cross-posting there and to TRADEMARKS-L.
