Ryan:
The graphics and code which you develop for your clients contain material which is protected by copyright law immediately upon its creation (fixation in a tangible medium of expression). As the author, you or your company will own the copyright immediately and can obtain additional benefits by registering these claims to copyright with the U.S. copyright office. The procedure is easy (a form) and inexpensive ($20 if you do it yourself). Your contracts with your clients may effect/transfer ownership of the copyrighted material to the client(s) depending on the terms of your contract. The contract should be carefully drafted, and copyright notices used
